Arch Claims Services

Arch Insurance Company (“Arch”) retains responsibility for the handling and adjustment of all claims arising on policies underwritten by Inter-Aero. All claims decisions and payments are made by Arch.

Arch’s Aviation Claims team is led by Lawrence Belmont, who has over 30 years experience in Aviation, including experience as a licensed claims adjuster.

Inter-Aero’s role is to assist the Arch Aviation Claims team by routing claims correspondence and notices to the appropriate persons within the Arch Aviation Claims team, providing policy and underwriting information, and, in the case of Space claims, technical guidance. This role is overseen by John Rowley, who has over 22 years experience in Claims and is a licensed claims adjuster.

Commercial Aviation & Space/Satellite Claims

Initial claim notices, billings and claim updates for all policies underwritten by Inter-Aero’s Commercial Aviation on behalf of Arch should be sent to Inter-Aero’s Claims Manager, John Rowley. He routes these notices/documents to the appropriate persons within Arch and undertakes inquiries on behalf of brokers on claim payment status, etc., as intermediary, with Arch retaining all responsibility for claims decisions and payments. Claims Handling Agreements should also be sent to his attention for review and execution.

General Aviation Claims

Arch has engaged the services of Providence Washington Insurance Solutions (“PWIS”) to act as its adjuster and Claims Administrator for all claims arising from General Aviation policies underwritten by Inter-Aero. Arch retains all claims decision making and payment responsibility for these claims.

The PWIS Claims team working on Arch General Aviation Claims is headed by John Ballard, an aviation claims attorney with over 30 years experience and Jeff Greenawalt, a licensed aviation claims adjuster with over 25 years experience.

What To Do In The Event Of A General Aviation Claim

The sooner Arch’s Claims Administrator, PWIS, knows about a claim, it can then promptly get into action on behalf of our Insured.

In the event of a physical damage claim, please provide:

  • the hull registration number,
  • date of event,
  • a brief description of what occurred,
  • name of the contact person who can provide additional details and
  • the telephone number and email address of that contact person.

Subsequent reports can fill in missing details. If pictures or witness statements are available, please send them as well.

A liability claim against an Insured can be in the form of a lawsuit, a letter, email or even a verbal claim. When forwarding a liability claim to PWIS, please include the following:

  • Arch Insurance Company Policy Number ;
  • Who at the Insured should receive an acknowledgement of receipt of the claim notice; and
  • Who at the Insured should be contacted for additional information and documentation to aid the investigation of the claim

For all lawsuits, because there is a legal time limit for an Insured to file their response to the claim by the plaintiff, a copy of the complete set of suit papers needs to be sent to PWIS as soon as possible, preferably within 24 hours of the Insured receiving the suit papers.

For all non-suit liability claims, while there is no legal time limit, the sooner an investigation of the claimant’s allegations can begin the better chance there is to capture all information that might assist in the defense of the Insured. Therefore, we recommend that Insureds or their brokers forward such claims to PWIS as soon as practicable, preferably within three business days of receipt of the claim.

All claim reports need to be in writing. Please email or fax your notice to:

All General Aviation claims should be reported directly to the attention of Jeff Greenawalt. His contact information is as follows:

Toll Free Fax Number (800) 519-2859

Jeff Greenawalt may also be called at Toll Free Phone Number (877) 768-9274 to provide additional information in addition to the written claim report.

Either simultaneously with the claims report going to Jeff Greenawalt, or soon thereafter, please provide a copy of the initial claims report to Inter-Aero’s Claims Manager, John Rowley, using the contact information below:

Email: john.rowley@inter-aero.com
Fax Number (805) 745-5933

Liability Incident Reports

Sometimes, an event will occur which has a likelihood of producing a liability claims at a later date. An example of such a situation is an accident that causes property damage to another entity or bodily injury. When an Insured knows of such a situation, it is very helpful to its long term interests for a liability incident report to be provided to the Arch Claims Team’s Claims Administrator, PWIS. Please use the same procedures for claims to report liability incidents.
